From Hiroshima to Hope 2003 Photos - August 6, 2003
Each year since 1985 Seattle's Greenlake has been graced by a beautiful memorial to the victims of the two atomic blasts in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, as well as all victims of violence everywhere. The evening begins with people preparing lanterns and cranes as various speakers, musical performers, etc. make presentations throughout the evening. At dusk people take their lanterns over to the boat dock area and once lit, float them out on the lake, along with their prayers for the victims and for a more just and peaceful world.
More photos will be posted as they become available. Additionally, if you notice a caption that is incorrect or for which you have more detail, as well as any other questions about this site, please address them to the LFPFP Webmaster. Thanks!
Enjoy!
