Kiwi Bob proposed a local candidates forum before the upcoming primary which could be organized and attended by North Seattle SNOW members. It was agreed this would be a good effort, but it was suggested it be limited to City Council and County Council candidates that have officially filed for office. It was suggested Voter Registration could also take place at this event. Questions related to peace and justice could be posed to the candidates, such as police accountability and the Patriot Act. The primary is September 16 and a time in early September seemed appropriate. Kay, Judy, Gunnel, Erica and Tom agreed to have a planning meeting for this event with Kiwi Bob, on Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. Eric will post this to the SNOW general list. bout the Patriot Act. 3. Gunnel talked about our upcoming Patriot Act educational event. The website for this group will be up in about a week: www.stopthewall.US 5. Kay reported on two events she attended in the past week. Educating ourselves and others about the upcoming elections. 3. Asking Seattle city government to adopt a Sister city in Iraq and maybe setting up micro loans to help citizens/businesses in our Sister city. | |||
