USA PATRIOT Act: October 27th was when the Resolution was officially introduced to King County Council, and passedÊto the Committee of the Whole, theÊ"COW committee." Closed discussion to follow on November 3rd at 9:30 AM and ACLU will present signed petitions to the Council. Public debate hearing on the Resolution scheduled for November 10th. Gunnel encouraged group members' attendance at the hearing. She does not know what is happening with the 4th District, as Peter ended his contact status due to work obligations. Olympia just passed an anti-USA PATRIOT Act Resolution!
Peace Christmas cards: ÊGroup is open to selling cards but not taking orders for cards. Card designer is donating all proceeds to SNOW Coalition.
"Roadshow" flyer posting: Get those flyers posted everywhere you can!
Button Design Discussion: Group would like to revise buttons to read "Oppose the USA PATRIOT Act" and include "www.snowcoalition.org" in smaller font. Button background to be a lighter blue like the U.N. flag. Another button, "Neighbors For Peace & Justice"

Public Speaking Progress Update: Janet has not researched permit status with police department yet, but has officially signed up for Toastmasters and will be attending regularly. Abe will mentor Janet on public speaking and teach her how to stand on a soap box. ;o)
Abe's 30-Second Good News: Israeli Army Chief of Staff publically opposed the Sharon government's policies towards the Palestinians. Israeli police are currently investigating Ariel Sharon for corruption.
Eric sent a $90 donation check from the group to Rise Up to help with their listserv hosting costs.
