Petition on Iraq

SNOW Coalition is gathering signatures on a petition to candidates (for president and congress) to end the occupation in Iraq. We will be gathering signatures when we are out registering voters and at the Fremont Sunday Market. SNOW is also working to expand the campaign nationwide.

Our first action to register voters and gather signatures on the petition will be at the Greenwood Art Walk, THIS FRIDAY, May 7 (starting about 7). The plan is to set up a table and chairs one block south of 85th & Greenwood, with registration forms and petitions.

NOTE: this is a different date than discussed at the meeting. Brent looked it up and the event is on Friday and Saturday (thanks Brent!). Gunnel and Elaine said they could do this on Thursday. Do we have anyone available for Friday?

SNOW is also planning a door-to-door survey of beliefs and perceptions about Iraq. However, we feel we are too busy with other actions to take this on as well.

Bannering

We have a large white-on-black "End the Occupation" banner and want to start bannering again regularly. We will begin bannering regularly every Sunday, noon - 1:30, at the Aurora overpass at 100th near Larry's. The banner only needs a minimum of two people, so if you have some free time and want to banner (especially during rush hour traffic), contact Gunnel to get the banner.
