Past Volunteer Campaigns
March 20th: The World STILL Says NO to War!
Our members were instrumental in the coordination of this successful march and rally. We helped coordinate outreach for the event, worked on the Web site, posted fliers, posters, and yard signes, and created buttons.
Civil Liberties Resolution Petition Campaign
During late 2003, our members were highly involved in the campaign to win passage of a King County resolution supporting our civil liberties and protecting against the USA Patriot Act. We collected more than 2,000 signatures from King County residents who are concerned about the erosion of their rights. Our efforts helped get a resolution passed and raised community awareness of the dangers of this and other threats to our freedom.
Iraq Petition Campaign
During 2004, our members helped collect signatures on a petition to elected officials denouncing the illegal war in Iraq and calling for a real UN-sponsored peacekeeping and reconstruction effort. SNOW (Sound Nonviolent Opponents of War), the petition sponsor, gathered over 10,000 signatures.
