The pretexts all were phony.
Now he's handing out contracts
To all of his old cronies.

Offering liberation.

Colonial occupation.

He bombed the people of Iraq

He makes up evidence when told

Against a disarmed nation.
Now we see it was for oil
And world domination

Iraqi liberation.
Do you suspect the ones helped most
Are global corporations?

Yankee Doodle broke the law
With unprovoked aggression.
Can we evolve past "might makes right"
And punish this transgression?

It's his preferred solution;

And campaign contributions.

With missiles, planes and bombs.
Too bad collateral damages

Our precious way of life.
He's sorry that the world must pay
With pollution, war and strife.

Than Genghis Khan or Caesar.
Iraq's conquest has only been
A prelude to more seizures.

Ignoring all the needs we have,

The books you check out, what you buy,
The websites you are viewing.

Yankee Doodle calls it "terror"
Depending on conditions,
Like the color of your skin and
Political positions.

Yankee Doodle hates dissent;
Says, "That's not patriotic."
We say, "If you crush dissent,
Your reign is quite despotic."

Yankee Doodle's henchman Ashcroft
Hates us for our freedoms.
As for First Amendment rights,
He doesn't think we need 'em.

Yankee Doodle wants to rule
The world and thinks he'll try it.
The only thing he needs for that
Is "we the people" quiet.

C. Environment:

Yankee Doodle swells with pride
At how much we're consuming.
He just ignores the dying earth
And global warming looming.

Yankee Doodle wants to sell
To anyone who wants it
Our water, forests, children's minds...
He's crass and even flaunts it.

Yankee Doodle wants you to
Consume more than your neighbor,
Take a rest, make do with less,
And do your health a favor

What Yankee Doodle likes the most
is duped and docile minions.
Watch network TV news programs
For corporate opinions.

What Yankee Doodle fears the most :
Informed and active minions.
Seek out varied news outlets
For multiple opinons.

On every TV station
Since facts and objectivity
Have taken a vacation.

E. Elections, democracy.

Yankee Doodle made the world
Safer for hypocrisy.
Let's take back our government
And have a real democracy

Yankee Doodle rules the land
For major corporations.
It's time for rules that benefit
The human population.

Yankee Doodle started with
A rich man's revolution.
It's time for more equality,
An American evolution.

Yankee Doodle always says,
"Let's listen to the voters"
He's listening to you, of course,
But more to General Motors

Yankee Doodle has declared
That money equals speech.
But having true democracy
Means equal voice to each.
